House Rules
These standards keep our home safe, sober, and focused on recovery and work. Your housing at Bridgeport Recovery House — Men is a revocable program housing license (not a lease) tied to active participation in Intensive Outpatient Treatment (IOP) / Partial Hospitalization (PHP) with our clinical partner and full compliance with the rules below.
1) Substance-Free Property

No alcohol or drugs on site. Possession, use, or distribution of alcohol, illegal drugs, drug paraphernalia, or misused prescriptions is prohibited anywhere on the premises (house, yard, porches, vehicles).

Random testing. UDS and breathalyzer checks are routine and may occur at any time. Refusal, tampering, or diluted/invalid samples are treated as positives.

Immediate safety response. Any use, distribution, or violence related to substances may result in immediate termination of your housing license and removal from the property.
2) Curfew & Time Away

Curfew: [Set hours, e.g., 10:00 PM Sun–Thu / 11:00 PM Fri–Sat]. Doors secure at curfew.

Late return / overnight pass: Must be requested and approved in writing by staff 24 hours in advance, with verification (e.g., employer schedule). Unapproved late returns or overnight absences are violations.

Check-ins: Be available for headcount and random curfew checks. Repeated late returns or missed check-ins trigger sanctions.
3) Quiet Hours & Community Conduct

Quiet Hours: [e.g., 10:00 PM–6:00 AM] to support rest, early work shifts, and group attendance.

Respect & conduct: Zero tolerance for violence, threats, bullying, harassment, discrimination, theft, vandalism, or intimidation.

Shared spaces: Keep kitchens, bathrooms, lounges, and hallways clean and orderly; return items to their place; no food or drink left in bedrooms.
4) Chores & Cleanliness

Chore rotations: You’re responsible for assigned chores (bathrooms M/W/F, kitchen daily, trash/recycling, weekly deep clean). Missed chores are a program violation.

Room standards: Beds made daily; no hoarding; food stored only in kitchen; dirty dishes cleaned immediately; personal laundry weekly.

Pest prevention: Seal food, remove trash nightly, report leaks/pests immediately.
5) Visitors & No-Minors Policy

Adults only. Visitors must be 18+, sign in/out with ID, and follow staff directions.

Visiting hours: [Set hours, e.g., Sat–Sun 12:00–6:00 PM] in common areas only. No overnights for visitors.

Absolutely no minors on the property at any time. Violations may result in immediate termination of housing.

Boundaries: No romantic/sexual activity on premises; no guests in bedrooms; no exchanging money, property, or medications with other residents or guests.
6) Medication Safety

Original containers only. All prescriptions must remain in their original labeled bottles; no sharing medications.

Controlled meds: Stored in assigned lock boxes; self-administration is logged per policy.

MAT friendly. We coordinate methadone, buprenorphine/Suboxone®, naltrexone/Vivitrol® with your OTP/prescriber to align with IOP/PHP and work.
7) Technology, Privacy & Property

Cameras: Security cameras monitor common and exterior areas only (never bedrooms/bathrooms).

Phones & media: No filming/recording other residents or staff without consent. No viewing or distributing explicit, hateful, or violent content in shared spaces.

Personal property: You are responsible for your belongings. We cannot store large items. Abandoned property may be discarded after 7 days per policy.
8) Safety & Facilities

Fire life-safety: Do not tamper with smoke/CO detectors, fire extinguishers, exits, or cameras. No open flames (candles, incense), hot plates, or space heaters.

Appliances: Use kitchens and laundry as posted; report maintenance needs to Gary (House/Facilities Manager) immediately.

Emergencies: Call 911 for medical/fire/police emergencies, then notify staff.
9) Food & Kitchen Use

No meals provided. Residents purchase and prepare their own food.

EBT: Do not pool EBT cards or funds. Staff do not handle resident EBT/cards/PINs.

Cooking hours & cleanup: Follow posted kitchen hours; clean as you go; label your items; respect others’ food.
10) Transportation & Vehicles

Transit plans set during Week-1. Limited rides may be available for IOP/PHP, court, or work; schedule in advance.

Parking: Park only in designated spots; no vehicle repairs on site; keep registration/insurance current.
11) Program Participation & Work

IOP/PHP engagement: You must attend all assigned groups (IOP/PHP) and appointments; we coordinate schedules so treatment comes first.

Recovery-to-Work (R2W): Participate in job readiness, ServSafe/OSHA-10, and employer events; communicate work schedules for curfew adjustments; maintain job performance and attendance.
12) Payment & Licensure

Program contribution: $200/week, paid in advance via ACH or payroll split; due [set day/time].

Not a lease. Your stay is a program housing license (non-tenancy), week-to-week, contingent on program compliance and active IOP/PHP participation.
13) Sanctions & Grievances

Termination of housing license and required vacate (immediate for serious safety violations)

Serious Safety Violations include: violence/threats; possession/use/distribution of drugs/alcohol; weapons; tampering with life-safety equipment; harassment/discrimination; repeated curfew absences; refusal/tampering with UDS/BA. These may result in immediate discharge.

Grievances & requests for reasonable accommodation can be submitted in writing to Ops (Cindy) or the Program Director. We review promptly and respond in good faith and in compliance with law.

No-Minors Policy
For resident and community safety—and to support focus on recovery and work—no minors are permitted anywhere on the property at any time. Adult visitors must present valid ID, sign in/out, remain in common areas, and follow staff instructions. Any violation of the no-minors policy or visitor rules is grounds for discharge.
